HERSHEY — Four District 9 wrestlers kept their dreams for a state title alive while 10 overall head into Friday night’s sessions with a medal already clinched at the PIAA Class AA Wrestling Championships at the Giant Center.

D9 wrestlers were 4-7 in Friday morning’s quarterfinals, with the semifinalists securing at least a top-six finish. Seven wrestlers notched a win in the second-round of consolations, thus clinching themselves a top-eight medal finish.

Still alive in tonight’s semifinals that start at 6:30 p.m. are Brookville’s Taylor Ortz and Brock Zacherl at 113 and 138 respectively, Coudersport’s Kyle Bova at 160 and Kane’s Evan Delong at 170.

Redbank Valley’s Willie Gruver and Ben Carrillo, Brookville’s Dalton Zimmerman, Brodie Zacherl, Zach Vroman and Jimmy Miller, and Kane’s Cody Blankenship all dropped their quarterfinal bouts.
