CLARION, Pa. – Clarion’s defense posted its eight shutout of the season, and the Bobcat offense continued to roll scoring seven first-half touchdowns to help top-seeded Clarion beat eighth-seeded Union 49-0 in the District 9 Class A quarterfinals Friday night at Clarion University’s Memorial Stadium.

Meanwhile, John Katis was 8-for-16 passing for 141 yards and two touchdowns to give him 17 scoring tosses vs. no interceptions on the year. Cory Hearst (3 catches, 46 yards) and Allen (1 catch, 9 yards) were the recipients of the scoring passes.

Clarion (11-0) had 494 yards of total offense while beating Union (4-7) for the second time this season. The Bobcats outscored the Golden Knights 111-0 in the two meetings.
