HERSHEY — Elk County Catholic teammates Kennedy Weisner and Victoria Dippold finished third and fourth respectively at Saturday’s PIAA Class A Championships at Hershey’s Parkview Cross Country Course.
Weisner, the defending state champion, finished in 19:21, one second behind runner-up Beth Shenck of Avonworth and 11 seconds ahead of Dippold. Vincentian Academy freshman Marianne Abdalah won the race in 18:24.
Also for District 9, North Clarion’s Jill Wallace was 19th and Cranberry’s Kristin Reynolds finished 33rd. Elk County Catholic and North Clarion were eighth and 10th respectively in the team standings.
In the Class A boys’ race, North Clarion’s Isaac Wilson was the top district finisher in 20th place in 17:07. Oswayo Valley’s Spencer Cole was 23rd and Northern Potter’s Ethan Kibbe was 30th. In the team standings, Northern Potter wound up in fourth place with Kane finishing 14th.
In Class AA girls, district champion Juliann Boddorf was 58th overall. In Class AA boys, Punxsutawney’s district champion Bo Dinger placed 21st.
